Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes what you may and may not do with ResaleTruth. It supplements our Terms of Service. The short version: use ResaleTruth for legitimate reseller business purposes. Don't use it to harm others, break the law, or game the system.

1. Permitted uses

You may use ResaleTruth to:

• Track profit, costs, and sales data for your own reselling business
• Connect your eBay account (and other supported platforms) to import sales data
• Generate reports, exports, and Schedule C packages for your own tax use
• Manage sourcing leads, inventory, and cost basis for items you own or sell on consignment
• Share exports with your own accountant, bookkeeper, or tax preparer
• Use the API (Pro and Enterprise tiers) to build integrations for your own workflow

2. Prohibited uses

You may not use ResaleTruth to:

Legal violations

• Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation
• Facilitate tax fraud, financial fraud, or money laundering
• Infringe on trademarks, copyrights, patents, or other intellectual property rights
• Violate eBay's User Agreement or any other platform's terms of service while using our integration

System abuse

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to ResaleTruth's systems, servers, or other users' accounts
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service beyond what the API allows
• Use automated tools to create accounts or circumvent rate limits
• Transmit malware, viruses, or any code designed to damage or disrupt the Service
• Conduct denial-of-service attacks or any form of load testing against the Service without written permission
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent item limits or other plan restrictions

Commercial misuse

• Resell, sublicense, or provide access to the Service to third parties without written permission
• Build a competing product or service using data or features derived from ResaleTruth
• Use ResaleTruth data to benchmark against ResaleTruth in marketing materials without permission

Harmful content

• Upload or transmit content that is defamatory, harassing, or abusive to ResaleTruth staff or other users
• Use the contact form or support channels to send spam

3. API use

Pro and Enterprise subscribers may access the ResaleTruth API to integrate with their own workflows. API use is subject to rate limits documented in the developer docs. You may not:

• Share or distribute your API keys
• Use the API to build a competing product that replicates ResaleTruth's core features
• Exceed rate limits without written permission (contact us if you have a legitimate high-volume use case)

4. eBay data

Data we pull from eBay via their API is subject to eBay's developer terms. You may not use eBay data accessed via ResaleTruth in ways that violate eBay's API license agreement. ResaleTruth is not responsible for how you use exported data outside of the Service.

5. Enforcement

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy, with or without notice, depending on the severity of the violation. For minor or accidental violations, we'll typically contact you first. For serious violations (fraud, system attacks, legal violations), termination may be immediate.

6. Reporting violations

If you believe someone is using ResaleTruth in a way that violates this policy, email support@resaletruth.com with details. We investigate all credible reports.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
