Is ResaleTruth a replacement for my bookkeeper?
No. We organize your reseller-specific data — inventory, cost basis, fees, labor, consignment — into exports your bookkeeper or tax software can use. We don’t file for you and we don’t give tax advice. What we do is make the data your bookkeeper needs actually accurate and organized.
Does ResaleTruth know what I paid for items?
Only if you tell it. The eBay API gives us your sale price and fees. It doesn’t know your cost basis — that’s yours to enter. The first time you use ResaleTruth you’ll enter purchase prices for your recent items. After that it’s part of the intake workflow when you add new items.
Why is my profit lower in ResaleTruth than in eBay?
Because ResaleTruth is including costs eBay doesn’t know about: what you paid for the item, materials, and (if you’ve set it up) labor. eBay shows gross minus fees. ResaleTruth shows gross minus all costs. The gap is the cost of buying and preparing the item.
What platforms do you support besides eBay?
Currently, eBay has the deepest integration (full API sync). For other platforms — Mercari, Poshmark, Depop, Whatnot — you can import sales data via CSV. We’re building direct integrations for the most-requested platforms; tell us which one you need at hello@resaletruth.com.
Does connecting eBay give ResaleTruth any control over my account?
No. Our OAuth scope is read-only. We can see your sales, fees, and listing data. We cannot list, end listings, message buyers, issue refunds, or change anything in your eBay account. You can revoke access at any time from your eBay account settings.
Is my financial data safe?
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We don’t sell your data. We don’t share it with advertisers. We don’t use it to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
What happens when my trial ends?
At day 30 (or when you hit 25 items), your account enters a locked state. Your data is preserved. You pick a plan to continue using ResaleTruth, or you export everything and leave. No auto-charge.
Can I use ResaleTruth for platforms other than eBay?
Yes. Manual entry and CSV import work for any platform. Your non-eBay sales flow into the same P&L, Schedule C, and reports as eBay data. For platforms without a direct integration, you’re doing the import manually rather than automatically.
How does the Schedule C export work?
Pro subscribers can generate a Schedule C package at any time from Reports → Tax. The package includes a main summary CSV mapped to IRS line items, a per-sale detail file, a purchases/COGS file, and separate sheets for mileage, home office, and consignment payouts. Your CPA gets everything they need in one ZIP.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly subscriptions cancel at the end of the current billing period. You keep your data — downgrade to trial-locked status or export before the billing period ends.
Do you offer refunds?
If you believe you were charged in error, email support@resaletruth.com within 30 days. We’ll investigate and issue a refund or credit if the charge was our mistake.
